The White Hart Hotel & Brufani's Restaurant/Bar
At The White Hart Hotel, we aim to ensure that all our guests have comfortable facilities and are made to feel welcome. We have developed this access statement to address some of the more common issues that disabled people face.
The access statement is intended to provide additional information for all guests who wish to attend the hotel or use its facilities.
The White Hart Hotel is a family owned, 15 en suite bedrooms, with a restaurant & bar. We have a variation of rooms within the body of the Hotel & also in the courtyard. There are two superior rooms on the ground floor with ramp access. The remaining 13 rooms are only accessible by stairs.

The nearest bus station is Wells Bus Station located approx. 5 minutes from the Hotel in Princes Road.
The nearest train station is Castle Cary approx. 12 miles from the Hotel.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
There is a private Car Park located around the Hotel free of charge to guests
The entrance is on the right hand side and is the turning after the Main Entrance door
Parking spaces can be found at the rear following the car park around into a U-shape.
Guest's must park close to the wall or sensibly in the courtyard area, allowing other cars to pass.
The car park surface is cobbled stones and lit at night
There is no slope to the back entrance door and one step
The front entrance has no slope or step
We offer assistance with luggage
Main Entrance & Reception
The front and back doors both lead to Reception, Restaurant and Bar
The floor is level & carpeted throughout
The Reception is on the Ground Floor, as is the Restaurant and Bar
There is a one step leading down into the public lounge.
Our corridors are well lit and carpeted
The Restaurant and Bar are assessable on one level and also carpeted
There is one door leading into the Restaurant and Bar from two entrances
We do not have a lift or escalators to the first floor
There are WC's also on the ground floor with no steps each with one door for entry
The fire alarm system is bells and does not have flashing lights. Assistance will be given if evacuation is necessary.

The lounge is made up of large single armchairs & sofas with low level, small coffee tables
Conference & Meeting Room, Function & Banqueting Suite
The 'Harts Head Suite' is situated on the first floor, accessible by stairs only
Carpeted throughout with an optional laminate dance floor
Female WC accessible by going down one step. Too narrow for a wheelchair to enter through the door. Male WC is one level, through one door, with no step. If needed a female wheelchair user can use the male WC. Assistance from our staff will be provided.

As a 2 Star AA Quality Standard Hotel, we are committed to providing a high level of customer service. Whilst the physical limitations of the existing building may impose some constraints on what the White Hart Hotel are able to do, we fully intend to comply with current regulations and good practice. At the White Hart Hotel, we have tried to make the 2 ground floor rooms as wheelchair accessible as possible.
The nature of the building means it is impossible to make access to upper floor bedrooms accessible without stairs.
The White Hart Hotel aims to ensure that all employees, guests and others who use or assist in the provision of our services, are treated equally & according to their needs. Staff training in disability awareness is undertaken as part of the on-going staff development programme, in compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.
